Privacy

Short version: there are no accounts, and your learning data stays in your browser.

What we don't collect

  • No accounts, names, emails or passwords.
  • No analytics or advertising trackers.
  • Your code, progress and projects are never uploaded to WANCode.

What is stored on your device

  • IndexedDB: lesson progress, code drafts, playground projects, achievements and a local activity history.
  • localStorage: theme, editor settings and language.
  • One functional cookie (wc-locale) remembers your language so that visiting wancode.my opens it in the right language. It is not used for tracking.

Your progress stays in this browser. Clearing site data, private browsing or switching device can remove it — export a backup from My progress to keep it safe.

Hosting and network requests

WANCode is a static website hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes standard request information (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and protect against abuse. Fonts are self-hosted with the site.

Code you write runs in a sandbox. If your code loads an external image or Google Font, your browser contacts that third party directly, as it would on any website. Network requests from your scripts (fetch) are blocked in the preview.

Share links and backups

A playground share link stores your code inside the link itself (after the #), which is not sent to our server — but anyone you give the link to can read the code. Backup files are created and read entirely in your browser. Names typed on achievement cards are only used to draw the image on your device.

AI

WANCode does not send your code to any AI service. Prompts in the AI Prompt Library are assembled locally for you to copy.
